Newton 51, DeRidder 29

Kendal Porter Jr. had 23 carries for 220 yards with three touchdowns as Newton rolled past DeRidder. Porter helped the Eagles in the passing game with three receptions for 56 yards. This is the third straight game Porter has rushed for over 100 yards and his first 200-yard game of the season. Porter Jr. now has over 6,000 rushing yards in his high school career at Newton.

Barbers Hill 44, Clear Falls 17

Barbers Hill remains undefeated on the season as the Eagles routed Clear Falls. Defense end Raiden Cook had five tackles and five hurries for the Eagles’ defense.

Pearland 48, Dawson 14

Kamryn Harris had four tackles as Pearland defeated crosstown rival Dawson to remain undefeated this season. Also, Harris recovered a fumble, one pass deflection and one quarterback hurry.

Atascocita 43, Humble 7

Tavon Bolden had four tackles with one interception as Atascocita defeated Humble.

Katy 56, Jordan 10

Warriors’ wide receiver Mo Poko had eight receptions for 80 yards in a loss to Katy. Poko had 52 yards return yards on special teams.
